@ Santa Anita Park...
According to my boyfriend who grew up in Japan, it seems like it's rather normal to go visit horse racing at least once in their lifetime. Well, it may be because I didn't grow up in Japan, I was clearly the exception. This was my first! To me, horse racing and racetrack remind me of beautiful ladies with crazy big hats and gorgeous dresses. Unfortunately, I don't really own a crazy big hat, so my outfit of the day was a dress minus the hat.
This racetrack is supposedly a very famous, historical one and many of world famous races are held here as well. My boyfriend purchased the groupon at Santa Anita Park that comes with a package of box seats and many other small deals. So the whole experience was pretty interesting, and I gambled for the first time in my life and that was fun! But towards the end, I was starting to think about these horses and felt little bad for them... Their lives totally depend on how fast you can race, and imagine those horses that aren't as fast as others... Before I start feeling all sad, I had to my beer. No matter if it's at baseball/football game, or this case horse racing, I need my beer. It makes everything so much better (at least temporarily)!

NYC trip - ING NYC marathon
As some of you may know, my boyfriend and I were in NYC for the weekend for the most important race of the year, ING NYC marathon!!! This race is pretty major for both of us, even though I've been always his cheerleader and not so much on running the marathon. My boyfriend has been working so hard for the past year to go sub-3 and although he didn't quite make it this time, it definitely was a big moment for him! I'm not sure what it is about this marathon, but this race is truly inspirational. It also helps that one of my close friends from NY was running it too. Many times, people have a hard time understanding why go through such torture, but marathon is truly a race of your own mentality. With a history of racing in a competitive environment, I'm still a bit scared to go back in that field, but I've determined that I gonna at least try for a half marathon next year. It was that inspirational!!!

Race for Rescue!
Another 10k on Sunday morning in Pasadena...
If you're a dog lover, today's Race for Rescue is one of the greatest ways to spend Sunday morning. Not only I get to see my boyfriend run 10k as a part of his training for NYC marathon, look at these super cute dogs!!! I honestly couldn't help myself taking every picture possible during their halloween costume contest. My favorite dog was the last one, which one is yours?
It was good to be back in Pasadena, even for one morning :)

Long Beach marathon
@ Long Beach on early Sunday morning
Pictures said it all, my boyfriend had a really good time at the Long Beach (half) marathon. After seeing all these fast runners, I finally decided to get back and hit the gym on Monday and ran around my apartment on Tuesday. Unfortunately I'm still super sore from it (mostly from the boot camp class I took on Monday) and I'm still too sore to run this morning... I always tell everyone that I'm only decent at running, because I'm not flexible enough to do yoga, don't have the upper body strength to take boot camp class, and lack coordination to do anything that requires more than moving my legs. Hopefully I recover soon...
