Although I spent most of my childhood in NY, my parents cooked Japanese food every night, so I definitely prefer to eat fish over any kind of meat. Unfortunately nice, fresh fish doesn't come cheap in this country (compare to Japan) so we don't eat as often as we would want to, but whenever we see a big sales at the Japanese grocery stores, we grab right away!
